Roughness Tester Retrofit
Not a repair: a structural upgrade.
Keep the mechanics that still perform and modernize electronics, interfaces and software for better traceability, quality reports and process standardization.
- An alternative to buying new, with a complete upgrade of control and data management.
- Pocket Roughness (touchscreen) or Surfynex (PC): same measurement logic, better usability.
- Ready for traceability and QA workflows (database, export, reports).
A structured-company approach
- Technical analysis and feasibility
- Electronics + software integration
- Testing and configuration release
- Support and long-term continuity
Continuous technological progress often makes measuring machines obsolete even when the mechanical part is still accurate and fully functional. The limitation typically comes from outdated electronics or software that can no longer be updated and may not comply with the latest standards.
In these cases, a retrofit is an effective and cost-efficient alternative to purchasing a new machine. With our interface kit, you can keep the original mechanical structure and replace only the electronics and software, giving the instrument a second life.
We offer two main retrofit solutions: Pocket Roughness (integrated touchscreen) and Surfynex (advanced PC software for analysis and reporting).

Frequently asked questions
How long does a retrofit take?
It depends on the machine complexity and the instrument condition (for example, if it has already been retrofitted). Typically we complete a retrofit within 4–6 weeks.
Do we need to stop the machine?
It depends on the retrofit: for simple and already-known solutions we don’t always need the instrument. For more complex solutions the machine may need to stop, but to reduce production impact we can provide loan solutions during the retrofit period. This keeps the customer covered and also allows early familiarization with our software.
Can I keep the original probe/stylus?
Yes. We keep the original mechanics and measurement system, integrating it with our electronics and software.
Do you also perform repairs or overhauls?
Yes. If there are damaged parts we can restore or replace them. Since we manage electronics and software, we can also adapt the system to future changes or upgrades.
What if something fails in the future?
We ensure long-term continuity: we provide repairs or replacements of damaged parts, including the probe, to keep the machine operational and up to date.
